Pottery Class for Ages 10-18
This is a 6-class series, we will meet on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 2:00pm-4:00pm, beginning February 8th.
We are meeting:
February 8th, February 22nd, March 8th, March 22nd, April 12th, and April 26th.
In this class, we will: work with raw clay and learn handbuilding techniques and gain skills on the pottery wheel. All clay, tools, aprons, glazes, and kiln firings are included in the cost of this class.
A reminder that this class will focus on creating a safe space for students to make clay art. I will be there to facilitate and guide, but I will not be telling the students what to make. Some students choose to make bowls, cups, plates (what we call “functional art”) and some students choose to explore the clay sculpturally, creating abstract art. All forms are encouraged, I just ask that each student comes with an open mind ready to get their hands covered in clay!
Those who have taken pottery with me before will be free to start working with clay right away. Those who are new will have a short five minute introduction to safety practices around the studio.
I recommend wearing clothes that can get dirty, although clay does not stain and washes easily, and I will be providing aprons for those who prefer.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Meeting in my Midtown Pottery Studio (Speedway and Columbus). Address will be given upon request.
